Springfield Mass Police Tribute Motorcycle

1927 Indian Scout Police Special

Springfield Massachusetts is where it all began for the Indian Motorcycle Company. It is where the legend was built and a city where it’s police officers serve with pride and distinction. Officers from the department were frequently asked to pose with new motorcycles from the factory and, to the best of my knowledge, a department that solely used Indians until the factory closed its doors in 1953.
This motorcycle is unique in that it is the first year that the factory introduced the 45 Powerplant and the only year that it marketed a motorcycle as a Police Special. The motorcycle will be 90% complete by the start of Laconia Motorcycle Week and will be proudly displayed.

After the end of the 2017 season, we have been allowed to copy a factory built bullet proof shield that will be mounted on the motorcycle for the start of the 2018 season.
We dedicate this special motorcycle to the officers listed below who gave their lives in service to the city of Springfield Massachusetts. May they continue to rest in peace and may their memories and dedicated service live on for all of us to reflect on.
